Zahra was born and raised in Brooklyn. She attended Edward R. Murrow High School and received a BA in English from the University at Albany, SUNY. She is an MFA in Writing candidate at Pratt Institute with an expected completion date in Spring 2016. To document the progress of Raw Fiction she has started a blog called Reviving Raw Fiction, a spin-off of the original blog Surviving Raw Fiction. In addition to "That Music is Intensest" which is published on this website, and the aforementioned blogs, Zahra's short story "Time is a blanket sewn from strips of cloud and rainbow" is published in Kalyani Magazine's September 2013 edition. If you are interested in reading her zine-published story "Solo Fly" she'd be more than happy to send you a copy, it's about a revolutionary insect. She is also the author of the unpublished novel, "The Monster's Fool," an experimental romp about a theater troupe.
